The Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF) was founded in 2015, by a leadership representing the Government of Saint Lucia, community groups and non-governmental organisations and private sector agencies. The World Bank, The Nature Conservancy and the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) provided technical support for this process.

The SLUNCF is dedicated to the conservation, restoration, and effective management of Saint Lucia’s biodiversity and natural resources. Although the original funding streams initially came from the CBF, SLUNCF was designed to receive a diverse range of funding streams that catalyse and support the conservation, restoration, and effective management of Saint Lucia’s biodiversity and natural resources.

This Alliance brings together local communities, tourism partners, government and environmental organisations to safeguard the biodiversity and vitality of our ocean, and is set up to receive online donations from people all over the world.
We have built up a solid reputation of financial prudence, accountability and transparency, which instills trust and confidence from partners and donors. We have been able to demonstrate the impact of projects and partnerships at the national level—through audits, annual reports, social media posts and newsletters.
