The Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (FUNBIO) is a national fund with nearly 30 years of experience working in Brazil’s six biomes: Amazon, Atlantic Forest, Caatinga, Pampa, Pantanal, and Cerrado. Its mission is to mobilize strategic resources for biodiversity conservation.

Since its founding, it has supported more than 700 projects and 500 protected natural areas, encompassing everything from ecological restoration and recovery processes to strengthening communities, Indigenous peoples, and the sociobioeconomy.

FUNBIO’s success is largely due to its openness and willingness to change, especially concerning new technologies that have radically transformed how societies consume information. Today, the key to effective communication lies in combining solid content with efficient channels that allows it to reach diverse audiences and place environmental outcomes on the social agenda.
One aspect that distinguishes FUNBIO is its ability to adapt to new communication tools in the environmental field. In this era marked by the attention economy, the fund has committed to innovation in its communication strategies, recognizing that how messages are conveyed and audiences are engaged is as important as the content itself.
