Bolivia is recognized worldwide for its mountains and high plains.\u00a0 About half of its surface is covered by forests (48% of its surface). Approximately 70% of Bolivia\u2019s natural richness is contained in its protected areas. The Political Constitution of Bolivia recognizes these areas as a common good, as they are part of the natural and cultural heritage of the country.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

The National Service of Protected Areas (SERNAP) was created for the operational management of the 22 national protected areas. The SERNAP is a decentralized entity attached to the Ministry of the Environment and Water (MMAyA) and is under the organizational and administrative coordination, control, supervision of the Deputy Minister of the Environment, Biodiversity, Climate Changes and Forest Management and Development.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n The fund has no expiration date and its objective is to preserve the habitat of the Madidi titi monkey, even if the\nMadidi ceased to exist as a protected area, the returns of the fund would still be used to support conservation activities\nin this area. However, the main challenge in 2014, seven years after the establishment of the Monito Lucachi Trust Fund,\nis to seek other innovative alternatives to cover 82% from international funds that have a high level of uncertainty with\nregard to their long-term permanence. <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
