This report represents the fourth in a series of studies covering the financial performance of Conservation Trust Funds during the five-year period from 2006 through 2010.<\/strong><\/p>

Conservation Trust Funds invest capital through various financial mechanisms, such as endowments and sinking funds, to provide long-term financing for conservation and sustainable development projects. To date, over 50 Conservation Trust Funds (CTFs) have been established throughout the world, many of them fairly new. The 31 established trust funds participating in this year\u2019s study manage over $500 million dollars.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n \n \n \n <\/svg>\n <\/div>\n\n The main objective of this study is to report on the performance of present\nthe investment strategies and structures implemented by participating\nConservation Trust Funds. A secondary objective is to explore the expanding\nroles of CTFs in managing and protecting biodiversity in their countries. <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n This project was conceived as a mechanism to provide information on\nfund management and to compare endowment investment strategies and\nperformance over time. Our hope is that this study will promote information\nsharing and networking regarding best practices for investment management,\nespecially for those funds that are just beginning to establish their structures\nand policies. \nThis report will also provide the investment, donor, and\nconservation communities with an assessment of the continuing efficacy and\nreliability of Conservation Trust Funds (CTFs) as a mechanism to achieve long\nterm sustainable financing of biodiversity. <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
