The Environmental Investment Fund of El Salvador (FIAES) is a Conservation Trust Fund that leads natural resource conservation processes in priority areas. It has 30 years of experience supporting the protection of ecosystems such as forests, wetlands, coastal areas, watersheds, and agroecosystems.
As part of its work and due to its experience in administering financial resources, FIAES has been designated as one of the mechanisms for implementing environmental offset measures in the country for the past 8 years. It has created alliances with more than 400 entities, mainly from the private sector, and generated an impressive income of USD 16.4 million as of June 2023, a testament to the program’s financial sustainability.
